Index rērum a se gestārum

Index rērum a se gestārum, epitomized ‘summary of the deeds of Augustus by (the emperor) himself’, inscribed on bronze in his mausoleum. Copies were placed in various temples of the empire; one of these survives (imperfectly) on the temple of ‘Rome and Augustus’ at Ancȳra (Ankara), besides fragments of others; see MONUMENTUM ANCYRANUM.
