Infinity Tower is a skyscraper under construction by Palma Real Estate in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project resumed construction in July 2008, after a delay caused by the collapse of a nearby wall and subsequent flooding of the construction site.
Construction of the 330 metres (1,083 ft) building began in February 2006 and when completed in 2011, it will have 73 stories and be the world's tallest high rise building with a twist of 90˚. The current version of the tower under construction beat out a taller, dark, 372 metres (1,220 ft), 93 floor Infinity Tower that was never built.
The tower will twist exactly like the Turning Torso in Malmö, Sweden, and will be the tallest to do so. Each floor is rotated by 1.2˚ to achieve the full 90˚ spiral, creating the shape of a helix. The Tower will have residential apartments, conference rooms, tennis courts, pools, a state of the art gymnasium, a nursery and a spa.
The Project of the property development company CAYAN, its architects were Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and will be located in the Dubai Marina.
As of 28th August 2009, 17 floors have been completed.

Site flooding
The tower's construction was on hold for a year and a half after the foundation site of the tower was flooded when the wall that held back the Dubai Marina was breached on February 7 2007.[1][2] Witnesses described a loud cracking sound, followed by an inflow of sand and water. However the construction of Infinity tower was resumed in late 2008, and the tower is expected to be completed by 2010.
The following photographs of February 2007 show the site's flooding:
