Biography

Finding themselves without bands, bassist Brian Pittman (who had recently left pop-punkers Relient K) and guitarist John LaRussa (whose own Narcissus had broken up) began randomly playing together with some area friends. By 2005, they had been permanently joined by vocalist Ryland Raus and drummer/vocalist Bobby Poole II to formally birth Inhale/Exhale. Based out of Canton, OH, the group combined their Christian faith with technical metal and post-hardcore into a melodic yet unforgiving sound to call their own. The group signed with Solid State in the spring of 2006 and headed down to Knoxville to work on their debut full-length with producer Travis Wyrick (Pillar, P.O.D.). A tour with labelmates the Chariot led up to the release of the resulting album, The Lost, the Sick, the Sacred, in November 2006. Inhale/Exhale closed out the year on the road. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

History

Formation/The Lost. The Sick. The Sacred.

The band was formed in 2005 by Guitarist John LaRussa (former member of the band Narcissus) and bassist Brian Pittman (former member of the band Relient K). In 2006 they added vocalist Ryland Raus and vocalistBobby Poole prior to the recording and release of their first album, The Lost. The Sick. The Sacred.. They are currently signed to Solid State Records, a subsidiary of Tooth & Nail Records.

The band has gone through several drummers. Bobby Poole II was with the band for the recording of The Lost. The Sick. The Sacred. and much of the bands early tours. He was replaced on tour by Chris "Tank" Murk throughout the summer of 2007. Before going into the studio to record their second album, I Swear..., the band chose Chris "Gator" Carroll as their new permanent drummer.

In July 2007 the band announced through a blog on myspace that Brian Pittman was leaving for personal reasons: "After a lot of thought and consideration, Brian has decided to stay home. He will always have a place in Inhale Exhale, and we love him. But too many factors at home needed his attention. He is excited to be on a permanent break from music. He loves what he has done thus far in his career, but he needed to take care of some personal business."

I Swear...

Jeremy Gifford replaced Brian on the bass guitar throughout the rest of 2007 playing on tour dates and recording with the band. He left the band in 2008 to play guitar for the band Lovedrug. A new Bass player was never officially announced, but Greg Smith was eventually confirmed as Bassist.

On June 10, 2008 the band released their second album, "I Swear..." with the lead single "It's Myself Vs Being A Man".

Bury Me Alive

It was announced on the band's MySpace page on May 12 that they were working on new material and would be recording during the summer to release their next studio album in the fall. In the middle of July, the band confirmed that their next album would be called Bury Me Alive. On September 15, Inhale Exhale posted a new song on their MySpace page, and on October 6th, Bury Me Alive was released.
