Inova keeps NoVa (northern Virginia) healthy. Founded in 1956 in Fairfax, Virginia, Inova Health System is a not-for-profit health care provider, offering acute care, long-term care, home health care, mental health, research, and satellite family practice and emergency care services in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. Inova's network consists of six hospitals (including a children's hospital) with some 1,800 beds, as well as nursing homes for seniors with another 400 beds. The health system has about 3,000 physicians on its medical staff. Its emergency departments receive more than 400,000 visits each year. The company is supported by the Inova Health System Foundation.
