Variant: IBS
A society, founded in 1947, devoted to the mathematical and statistical aspects of biology. Through its regional organizations the Society sponsors regional and local meetings and it has about 5 800 members worldwide. Its principal publications are Biometrics and (jointly with the American Statistical Association) the Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics.
