International Building Exhibition
In Berlin, to mark the 750th anniversary (1987) of the founding of the city, the West Berlin authorities decided (1978) to hold an international exhibition to promote a series of exemplary housing initiatives, which would be permanent, and lived in. Kleihues was appointed (1979) Director of Planning. Several architects contributed, including Eisenman, Grassi, Gregotti, Hertzberger, Hollein, Isozaki, Rob Krier, Rossi and Stirling & Wilford. Examples of exhibits may be seen in Rauchstrasse, and Corneliusstrasse, and in Schlossstrasse and Rönnestrasse in Charlottenburg.
