International Plaza and Bay Street
International Plaza and Bay Street is a large upscale shopping mall located in the Westshore business district of Tampa, Florida. The mall, which opened in 2001, was built to give travelers an option to shop and dine in high-class surroundings, while at the same time be able to stay near Tampa International Airport (which borders the property). Recently, the Renaissance Hotel Tampa/International Plaza was opened on the premises.
Bay Street consists of upscale restaurants and lounges in an intimate sidewalk café setting. Restaurants include The Cheesecake Factory, The Capital Grille, Champps, Piazza Roma, and TooJays Gourmet Deli. Some of the more popular lounges include The Grape, Blue Martini, Bar Louie, and Starbucks Coffee.
The mall proper is anchored by the department stores Nordstrom, Dillard's, Robb & Stucky Interiors and Neiman Marcus. The mall opened with Lord & Taylor as an anchor but that store closed in 2004. Other stores include Tiffany & Co., Sony Style, Z Gallerie, Bose, The Apple Store, Coach, Diesel, Oakley, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, RUEHL, and Caswell Massey.
Adjacent to mall itself are three corporate office towers; Corporate Center One, Two, and Three. Center One was built in 1999, Center Two in 2001, and Center Three in 2004. There are currently plans to build Corporate Center Four, which will include 247,000 sq ft of office space. Construction may begin in Summer 2007 and is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2008. All of the corporate office properties at International Plaza are owned by Crescent Resources LLC [1] while the mall itself is owned by Taubman Centers Inc..
The mall is one mile away from the WestShore Plaza shopping center.
