Internet safety education and awareness is critical in keeping our children safer online.

As the Internet is rapidly changing, it is becomming more and more difficult to stay informed as to the new trends, gadgets and potential dangers that our children may face. It is my job to help.

For the past two years, I have championed Internet safety education and awareness not only in my local elementary school, but the entire region. Due to a definate need, as well as hard-work, determination, dedication and unending passion, a position was created for me: Regional Office of Educations Internet Safety Coordinator.

Within that time frame, I've developed unique curriculums, personalized presentations for parents and educations, assembled a team of community leaders, am a regular newspaper columnist, wrote an anti-cyber bullying policy for the district, work with over 500 children weekly in a computer lab environment, and put together this educational resource blog.

Internet safety is not just a job for me; I live and breathe it. I have dedicated the past two years of my life, educating children and adults. We must all work together, and must remain vigilant, in order to keep our children safer online.
