Plot

This Intimate Portrait features movie star Audrey Hepburn. Born in Belgium in 1929, Hepburn-still a child- became part of her country's Resistance Movement to Hitler. She was forced to hide alone in a cellar for a month to avoid the Nazis. It was this kind of sobering experience that made Hepburn into the reluctant film star, glamourous but never a part of the Hollywood glitz. Her many roles as the beautiful gamine delighted audiences and won her an Oscar for Roman Holiday. But she considered her real work to be her family and her efforts as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. Interviews with family, friends, and Hepburn herself, as well as film clips, tell her remarkable story. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide
