iRider is a commercial Internet Explorer shell.

Features

  • A page map shows open pages as thumbnails in a hierarchical tree, providing a visual overview of the pages and sites one is working with. The page map can be navigated by clicking links or using Back and Forward commands, or by clicking on a page to go to it directly, or by riffling through pages by dragging through the page map.
  • Right-click links or Favorites (bookmarks) to queue them for download in the page map while remaining on the current page.
  • Select multiple links or Favorites (bookmarks), open them all with one click, and review them as they download.
  • A Next Page command visits pages as they download in the page map, according to user-defined options. In combination with link queuing, allows easy visitation of pages of interest on a site or multiple sites, without using the Back button or revisiting pages already seen.
  • A Parent command goes to a page's parent page and highlights the link used to reach the child page.
  • Search multiple search engines at once and download their results simultaneously. Search engines organized into categories such as web, images, video, encyclopedias (including Wikipedia), news, shopping, etc., and selectable as entire categories or individual engines.
  • Manipulate individual pages or sets of pages:
    • Pin pages of interest to mark them, prevent them from being closed, and re-open them automatically the next time you launch the browser. Pin all pages in a window, all pages in a single site, selected pages, or drag across pins in the page map to quickly pin consecutive pages.
    • Refresh all pages in a window, all pages in a single site, or selected pages.
    • Close multiple pages at once: all pages in a window, all pages in a single site, selected pages, or drag across close buttons in the page map to quickly close consecutive pages.
    • Add multiple pages to Favorites at once: selected pages, all pages in a site, all pages in a window, or just the pinned pages in either of these sets.
    • Favorites Books provide a shortcut to open a set of pages with a single click.
    • Send or receive multiple links at once as URLs in email or other text.
  • Memory management allows hundreds of pages to be opened without using excessive amounts of memory.[citation needed]
  • Keeps pop-ups from appearing in front of your current page, without blocking desirable pop-ups, such as log-ins for banking, photo display windows, etc.
