Irish Cream is a cream liqueur based on Irish whiskey, cream, and other ingredients which sometimes include coffee, which can be served on its own or used in mixed drinks or as part of a shot.

Irish Cream is very popular in the United Kingdom and the United States. Irish Cream typically has between 15 to 20% alcohol by volume (though this is typically not true of Irish Cream flavoring syrup or Irish Cream creamers, and is considered a cream liqueur).

It is typically served on the rocks as a moderately strong beverage on its own, but is often mixed with stronger drinks such as adding additional whiskey, often Scotch Whiskey or even Bourbon to blend in more of a kick that compliments the Irish Whiskey used in brewing. Coffee liqueur such as Kahlua and many Caramel liqueurs often work well too. Bailey's is a common addition to White Russians, due to its creamy flavour often going quite nicely with many of the coffee-flavoured mixed drinks.

Some recipes for Irish Cream liqueur, using various combinations of Irish whiskey, cream, coffee (sometimes, and usually optional), sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk have been published. Many have significantly less ABV than the commercial brands.

Irish Cream liqueur is not Irish coffee, a hot drink prepared with whiskey, coffee, and cream.
