Isaac Slade (born May 26, 1981 in Denver, Colorado) is the lead singer and pianist of alternative rock and piano rock band The Fray. Slade grew up in the Denver area with his family, which included both parents and two brothers, Caleb and Micah. He attended the Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado and later attended the University of Colorado Denver.
Slade joined with vocalist/guitarist Joe King in 2002 to form "The Fray". Slade and King were former schoolmates who decided to start a band after meeting each other in a record store. Before forming The Fray, Slade had previously been in bands of his own, including one called Ember, with David Welsh and Ben Wysocki.
Slade co-wrote and performed all of the songs on The Fray's debut album How to Save a Life as well as for their self titled sophomore album The Fray excluding the song, "Ungodly Hour", which is vocally performed by band mate, Joe King.
