Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan (sometimes: Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan) is the 30th governor of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. He took up the post on December 27, 2002.[1] Since July 16, 2008, he has the distinction of becoming the province's longest serving governor.[2] Earlier, that distinction lay with Lt. General S.M. Abbasi.[3]

Achievements
One of the many mega projects that were initiated were such as Nagan Chowrangi flyover. [4]. The Governor is also now making sure many projects like Lyari express and other developments to be completed as fast as possible. [5] The Governor sindh, Dr.Ishratul-ebad is also working to make Karachi a greener city as a long term project.[6] Ebad also played a pivotal role in diffusing tension and violence in the city by holding political talks with other political parties major members.[7] Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan is, as of 2007[update], the Governor of the province of Sindh in Pakistan.
Achievements
1.Restoration of daily life activities in Karachi, which is world’s 7th mega city and hub of Pakistan's economic, cultural, political and intellectual activities, maintaining of law and order during Eid’s, Rabi-ul-Awal, Muharram ul haram, and personal visits to religious places, market and routes of rallies to make atmosphere more conducive.
2. Different efforts to end urban-rural divide and reduce poverty, to improve agriculture and irrigation system and to promote industrial activities in order to create job opportunities.
3. Annual development program (ADP) has been enhanced from 5 billion rupees to 50 billion rupees, in five years.
4. Initiated steps to chalk out comprehensive master plan for Karachi and other and cities of the Sindh province.
5. Special attention to sports, cultural, journalism and literature; increase in grant for press clubs of the province and Karachi Arts council; setting up Kocha-i-Kaqafat and efforts for Pak – India cricket matches, SAF football championship and revival of theatre and film.
6. Legend trust for national heroes of different sectors and to provide them different sectors and to provide them necessities of life treatment and education to their children; unique step in country’s history.
7. Separate examinations for ninth and 10th classes.
8. Legislation and practical steps to end Karo – Kari.
9. Special plans for shifting automobile city, timber market, iron market and truck stand from busy areas of the city.
10. Comprehensive plan for setting up two more Subzi Mandis.
Developments
Furthermore the other mega developments which the Governor Sindh has planned are: Beach park, which was constructed under the special supervision of Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, is part of the under-construction Grand Recreation Project. This beautiful park spread over an area of 47 acres (190,000 m2), has been constructed along 3.7 km long coastal driveway. The park was established on February 27, 2007. The park is the country's Biggest Park, constructed under Clifton Beach Development Project on 130 acres (0.53 km2) of land. The old Toyland Theme Park has been done away with and this park replaces it. The park cost PKR 600 million and has been completed in just about 310 working days. It is estimated more than 10 million people visited per year, as by now in four months, two million have visited by now. Prior to the initiation of construction on Bagh-e-Ibne Qasim, 73 acres (300,000 m2) of land was freed from the grip of land grabbers. The entire Clifton beach, and the area now covered under the park. In June 2005, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan took it upon himself to restore this major historical entertainment area to its original splendor. Peace in Karachi...
In recent spate of violence that has terrorized citizens of Karachi the Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan once again played his balancing role in defusing the tension and restoring peace, his sincere efforts were undoubtfully conspicuous. He has brought all the major political and religious parties and other important stake holders on the platform. It was evident that following Governor's indulgence the city has started feeling a siege of relief. As soon as he announced peace committees violence stopped in the city and people witnessed fast recovery. Karachi city has shown enormous resilience and next morning activity in the city was back to almost normal. Peace in Karchi has sent a positive message all over the country. People in the city expect and demand from the Governor to continue with his peace efforts to bring the economic hub of the country in complete peace and harmony. Citizens admire and applaud the effort and extra ordinary administrative capabilities of the Governor.
