Isoma or Issoma (Greek: Ίσωμα) is a Greek village located west of Fares, 17 km south of Patras, about 138 km northwest of Tripoli and 83 km west of Kalavryta. Isoma had a population of 539 in 2001 for the village. Fares is also in the municipality of Farres. Isoma is connected with the road linking the GR-9/E55 (Patras - Pyrgos - Kyparissia and Fares as well as the GR-33 (Patras - Tripoli.

Geography

Isoma is situated between the Farres-Chalandritsa Plain that stretches from Kallithea down west of Skiada and the small mountains that stretches from south of Gomosto to Ovrya, the forests are sporadically founded. Its main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture. It has approximately 10 km of paved roads and hydro lines and not as much residential roads.

Residential and other buildings are within the main and farm roads.

Information

Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Radio and automobiles arrived in the 1950s and television in 1980s, computer and Internet arrived in the late-1990s.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras. In the 1970s, the new Patras Industrial Area was under construction and it completed with several factories and buildings in which it made Patras rich, most of the employees are from the Patras Area as well as a small number south and west of Greater Patras area. the GR-33 was also reconstructed in the 1970s and the 1980s and has been bypassed since that time. The population slowly recovered between 1991 and 2001.
