Izlane

Berber songs. The singular is izli. These are short (usually no longer than two lines) poetic songs among Berbers in the Middle Atlas mountains. The songs are sung at festive occasions, accompanied by drums and clapping, and often speak of love. They are also a vehicle for social and political commentary.
