Yver, Jacques (1520-c.1571). French story-teller. The five tales of his very popular Printemps (1572) offer differing perspectives on love, in the style of Marguerite de Navarre's Heptaméron; set in a country-house during a lull in the Wars of Religion, the narrative creates an interesting blend of realism, imagination, and erudition, despite Yver's mannered style.
