Bolivian pop/rock band Jade was formed in 1995 by singer Ignacio Navarro, guitarist Fernando Antezana, drummer Diego Antezana, and bassist Nicolás Quiroga, who were soon joined by keyboardist Oscar Arce. William Castillo produced their debut album, Tarot, which was independently released on December 15, 1998, and featured Jade's first hit, "Viernes Por la Noche." The band achieved their first important recognition when local newspaper El Diario awarded them Revelation of 1999. A year later, bassist Carlos Baena replaced Nicolás Quiroga while keyboardist Andrés Cuevas took Oscar Arce's place, recording 0 Km, which was produced by Daniel Arroyo and released by Sony Music Bolivia. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
