Jagatjit Singh Bahadur, Maharaja of Kapurthala

Jagatjit Singh Bahadur (24 November 1872 - 19 June 1949) was the ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Kapurthala in the British Empire of India from 1877 till his death. He assumed full ruling powers of Kapurthala in November 1890. He served as the Indian Representative to the League of Nations General Assembly in Geneva in 1926, 1927 and 1929^[1], attended the Round Table Conference in 1931 and was Rajpramukh of PEPSU to his death.

• The Maharajah married firstly, on 16th April 1886, H.H. Maharani Harbans Kaur, daughter of Mian Ranjit Singh Guleria of Poprola
• Married secondly, a Princess of a Katoch Rajput family from Kangra
• Married thirdly, a Princess of a Rajput family from Bushahr (died September 1959 in Kapurthala)
• Married fourthly, Rani Kanari
• Married fithly, 28th January 1908 (later divorced), Maharani Prem Kaur [née Anita Delgado], (born 1890 in Malaga, Spain, died 7th July 1962)
• Married sixthly, 1942, Maharani Tara Devi [née Evgenia Grosupova], she was the daughter of a Czech Count and Nina Grosupova, an actress. She committed suicide by jumping off the Qutub Minar in Delhi.

In media

Probably as a reminiscence of his marriage with Anita Delgado, Don Pimpón, a character in the Spanish version of Sesame Street, claimed to have travelled the world extensively with "his friend the Maharaja of Kapurthala".
