Some of the sides included in this three-disc box set are indeed ska, but most are really either rocksteady or early roots reggae tracks. While there are some wonderful selections here (including classics by the Ethiopians, Desmond Dekker, the Maytals, Delroy Wilson and the immortal Bob Marley, among others), most of them are readily available elsewhere, making this budget compilation far from essential.
