Plot

James Dean: At High Speed is a 50-minute documentary that chronicles the life and times of racing legend James Dean, from his boyhood in Indiana to the car crash that ended his life. You'll visit Carter's Motorcycle Shop where 15-year-old Dean purchased his first motorcycle and you'll also get a close-up look at the Triumph motorcycle, red MG TD sports car, and Porsche 356 Speedster Roadster that he raced later in his career. Special features of this film include, a "point-of-view ride" in an exact replica of Dean's Porsche 550 "Spyder" and an interview with George Barris, the car builder who customized it. There are interviews with Hollywood personalities, Dean's auto racing competitors, and Lee Raskin, Porsche historian and racecar driver. ~ Kathleen Wildasin, All Movie Guide
