(b Banchory Ternan, 5 Aug 1843; d Aberdeen, 17 March 1927). Scottish violinist,composer and dancing-teacher. He wrote over 700 violin works, mostly in Scottish style, of which The Laird o′ Drumblair is his finest strathspey; The Bonnie Lass o′ Bon Accord is his best-known air.
