Japanese Camera Inspection Institute

Japanese Camera Inspection Institute (JCII). Organization created in 1954 to inspect Japanese exports, as part of a campaign to raise the reputation of Japanese industry. Its little gold stickers on cameras and lenses soon became symbols of quality and value. The JCII also authenticates historic cameras, and runs a small camera museum in Tokyo.
