La Péruse, Jean Bastien de (1529-54). Member of the humanist group which studied under Buchanan and Muret at the Collège de Boncourt. He imitated Seneca (and to some extent Euripides) in his Médée (1556), which was one of the first neo-classical plays to be produced in the entourage of the Pléiade mouvement.
