(b Paris, 15 May 1720; d after 1783). French violinist and composer, eldest son of Jacques. He joined the Opéra orchestra as a child, and by 1756 was first violinist and a principal conductor; from 1746 he also played in the 24 Violons du Roi. His sonatas (1750) use dance forms, and like the 6 simphonies à quatre (1755) are conservative in style.

His brother Jean-Louis (1732- c1810), a writer, was noted for his Refutation suivie des principes de M. Rousseau de Genève touchant la musique françoise (1754).

Jean-Louis Aubert (born 12 April 1955 in Nantua) is a French guitarist, singer and songwriter.

In 1976, he co-founded the rock band Téléphone. After their split, he recorded a single album (Platre et Ciment) with Téléphone's drummer Richard Kolinka as Aubert'n'Ko (1987), and in 1989 released his first solo album, Bleu Blanc Vert.
