Jeff Atkinson is a former middle distance runner and currently holds the sixteen-hundred meter record at Stanford University.[citation needed] He competed at the Summer Olympics in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea and came in tenth place in the 1500m race. Jeff currently holds coaching positions in both cross country and track and field at Palos Verdes High School in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Some coaching accomplishments include bringing the Palos Verdes Cross Country team to a second place in the State meet. He hoped to win the division three state title in 2007 by beating Barstow, the two time reigning champions; however, his team got fifth place at the state meet.
