Biography
Jeff Burger has been a passionate fan of popular music since only a few years after his 1949 birth. The first record he remembers buying is "Witch Doctor," by David Seville and the Chipmunks, but he believes his taste has improved since then. He has written about music and musicians for more than 30 years for such magazines as High Fidelity, Creem, Circus, Melody Maker, and Cash Box. He has also contributed to and edited several books; written speeches and other materials for Fortune 100 companies; and freelanced on a wide range of topics for such publications as the Los Angeles Times, Gentlemen's Quarterly, and Reader's Digest.A former editor in chief of Phoenix magazine in Arizona, he has since 1987 been an editor of Medical Economics, the country's leading business magazine for physicians. He earned a B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany. A member of the American Society of Magazine Editors, he serves on the American Business Press New Media Committee. He lives in Ridgewood, N.J., with his wife, puppeteer Madeleine Beresford, and son, Andre.
