Biography
Throughout the early '90s, Jeff Ward made regular appearances in the shifting industrial groups based around Chicago. As a close friend of Al Jourgensen, he became involved in many of the temporary bands formed by the Ministry frontman and his friends.Ward's first major appearance was on the short Revolting Cocks EP Stainless Steel Providers. After touring with RevCo for a few months, he signed on with Nine Inch Nails, replacing Chris Vrenna who had temporarily left to join Stabbing Westward. Soon afterwards, he joined Al Jourgensen and Jello Biafra's comic-industrial group, Lard. Lard was only an occasional project, so Ward continued to appear with a number of other bands.
By the early '90s, Ward had become addicted to heroin, a habit he found impossible to break. Tragically, this lifestyle became too much for him to bear and he committed suicide on March 19, 1993, at the age of 30. ~ Jim Harper, All Music Guide
