Jerry Minor
Jerry C. Minor (b. October 4, 1969) is an American comedian.
He was born in Memphis but grew up in Flint, Michigan. He started doing stand-up and writing/performing with sketch groups in Detroit before joining the Second City Detroit mainstage. After writing and performing in three revues, he joined the Second City Chicago for two shows and then one revue at the Second City Toronto. Jerry is the only performer to have belonged to all three of the Second City's touring companies.
Minor was a featured player on Saturday Night Live for one season, from October 7, 2000 through the season finale in 2001. He was fired along with Chris Parnell by Lorne Michaels during the summer before the 2001–02 season because Michaels wanted to hire four new cast members, but did not want to go over budget.[citation needed] Minor is also credited as a writer for SNL.
Minor has appeared on several other American comedy series. He was on The Daily Show in 2006 as a correspondent. He played cop/prison guard Officer Carter on three episodes of Arrested Development. He made several appearances on HBO's sketch comedy show Mr. Show. Minor was a regular on the HBO series Lucky Louie, on which he played main character Louie's neighbor until the show was canceled in September 2006. He is currently a main character on the sitcom Carpoolers.
He has held a YouTube channel since September 25, 2006.
