Disney XD Latin America is a cable television channel and is an edition of the The Walt Disney Company-owned Disney XD broadcasting to Latin America and the Caribbean. It was launched on July 3, 2009 replacing the channel Jetix.[1] It is broadcast in three feeds, North Zone, Multi-country Zone and South Zone. It features male-focused series along with action, comedy and animated series.[2] It is marketed to boys, girl inclusive, from 6 to 14.[3] It is operated in the region by Disney & ESPN Media Networks and The Walt Disney Company Latin America Inc. , which are owned by The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS).

History
The channel started as The Fox Kids Network in 1994 and was a morning, kid-focused, programming block on FOX Latin America. It aired animated series oriented to kids. In 1996 it became a 24-hour kids channel, named Fox Kids. Alongside the animated series featured on the previous block, it featured anime animated series and some live-action series like Power Rangers. Starting in the 2000's Fox Kids started to air the Fox Kids World Cup, a worldwide soccer championship, with different schools from different countries playing soccer in different countries in two categories, boys and girls. In the 2003 edition participated more than 21 countries[4], including the United States, United Kingdom, Turkey, Spain, Russia, Romania, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, among others.
In the year 2002, Fox Family Worldwide was sold to The Walt Disney Company and eventually all the television networks from the company were changing its names and logos. Fox Family became ABC Family and international channel also were re-branded. In July, 2004 it was announced that "Fox Kids Latin America" would become "Jetix Latin America", as a part of the worldwide re-branding. Jetix Latin America was launched on July 31, 2004. Despite the re-branding, some "Fox Kids" promos were still being aired until some weeks later.
As Jetix, the channel aired mostly animated series, including the Jetix Animation Concepts and Disney Channel Original Series. Some live-action series like the Power Ranger or local Casi Ángeles were also aired. Third-party movies and series were also aired. The Fox Kids World Cup was re-named Jetix Kids World Cup and later just Jetix Cup and became smaller, with only Latin American countries playing. Eventually, Jetix started airing old series from Disney Channel, series that had been dropped or canceled from that channel. Those series include Phil of the Future, Dave the Barbarian, Even Stevens and some others. By 2008, most of the Jetix programming included The Fairly OddParents, Pucca, Dinosaur King and Power Rangers. Those series took most of the schedule of the channel. The channel also premiered a Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock.
Late in 2008, Disney Channel Worldwide stated that Jetix Latin America, would become Disney XD in 2009.[5] The Jetix Cup was renamed Disney Soccer Cup to fit with the Disney XD rebranding.
Finally, Disney & ESPN Media Networks announced on May, 2009 that Jetix would become Disney XD on July 3, 2009.[1]. The last series premiering on the channel were Monster Buster Club and Quantum Ray. The promos of Disney XD showed different subjects of the new channel (like guitars, skates, video games or even shoes) appearing in fron of the Jetix character on its own city.[6].
Curiosly, the last thing to be aired on Jetix was a movie premiere, the premiere of Open Season. "Disney XD" premiered on July 3, 2009 at 7:00pm local time[1] with the Disney XD Original Series Aaron Stone and Zeke & Luther followed by the Walt Disney Pictures movie The Incredibles and the premiere of the other Walt Disney Pictures movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

- Disney XD Multi-country. Aired in Colombia, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Central America.
- Disney XD Argentinian. Aired in Argentina,and Uruguay.
- Disney XD Sur. Aired in Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.
- Disney XD Brazil. Aired in Brazil in Portuguese.
