Jewish outreach is a widely-used term used to translate the Hebrew word kiruv or keruv (literally, "to draw close"). "Outreach" is roughly equivalent to missionizing, except that Judaism usually does not seek converts. Efforts are rather directed at Jews who have "gone astray," or who have been born Jewish in a non-observant family. See:
