Jajce (Cyrillic:Јајце) or Jezero (Cyrillic: Језеро) is a village and a municipality in western Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the western part of the Republika Srpska entity. The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina uses both Jajce and Jezero as the official names of the municipality [1]. The municipality was created from part of the pre-war municipality of Jajce (the other larger part of the pre-war municipality is now in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Name
The village name Jezero means lake.
Geography
It is located between municipalities of Mrkonjić Grad to the north-west, Jajce to the east, and Šipovo to the south.

1991
In 1991, the population of the Jezero village numbered 2,264 people, including:
- 1,241 Serbs (55%) (See: Serbs of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- 757 Muslims by nationality (33%)
- 200 Croats (9%) (See: Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- 42 Yugoslavs (2%)
- 24 others (1%)

In 2006, the majority of inhabitants of municipality were ethnic Serbs. [2]
