Character Bio

Jin Kazama has had a troubled past. His mother, Jun Kazama, had a feeling just before she died that something awful was going to happen. She told Jin, 15 at the time, of her past -- how the Devil had attempted to possess Jin's soul when she was pregnant with him and how she defeated him to save her son. Jun took her son to Yakushima (where he grew up) and told Jin that he should go to his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, if anything should happen to her.

The week that she told Jin all of this, her sworn enemy Ogre, the "God of Fighting," came to kill her. Jin's mother told him to go away and let her take care of it. But he would not abandon his mother. Jin fought Ogre, only to find himself well overmatched as he was knocked unconscious. He awoke to a horrible discovery: his mother was dead. Following her request, he went to Heihachi, who took him in and trained him for his future in the Tekken tournaments.
