Jinning (金寧鄉) is one of the islands of the Kinmen (Quemoy) group. It is in the Taiwan Strait, on the coast of Fujian. It has a population of 16,849 and an area of 29.8540 square kilometres. Geographically it is very near to Xiamen (Amoy). Administratively the island forms the Jinning Township of the Kinmen County, Fujian Province of the Republic of China. The People's Republic of China claims the Kinmen County (Jinmen County in pinyin) as part of the Quanzhou prefecture of its Fujian Province.
