Joachim Perinet
Perinet, Joachim (Vienna, 1763-1816, Vienna), an actor in the popular theatres of Vienna, particularly the Theater in der Leopoldstadt, wrote numerous Singspiele, mostly adaptations of popular works of the previous generation, especially those of Philipp Hafner. They include Das neue Sonntagskind (1793, Hafner's Der Furchtsame), Die Schwestern von Prag (1794, originally Der von dreyen Schwiegersöhnen geplagte Odoardo), and Die Hexe Megära (1804, an adaptation of Hafner's Mägera, die förchterliche Hexe). Perinet is the author of the well-known song ‘Wer niemals einen Rausch gehabt’. It occurs in Das neue Sonntagskind. Perinet's Der travestierte Telemach and its sequel Antiope und Telemach, examples of burlesqued mythology on the stage, were performed in 1805.
