Joan Fraser
Joan Fraser, BA (born October 12, 1944) is a Canadian Senator and former journalist.
Fraser joined the Montreal Gazette in 1965 after graduating from
McGill University. After two years as a cub reporter

In 1998, Fraser was appointed to the Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. She sits as a Liberal. She is married to Michel Faure, and they have two daughters, Elizabeth and Isabelle.
In the 39th Parliament, she was appointed the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, working under Leader of the Opposition, Senator Dan Hays.
