Joe Plummer is a percussionist from Toronto, Ontario. Plummer currently plays in the indie rock band Modest Mouse and performed on their album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. Currently, he is one of two drummers for Modest Mouse, along with founding drummer Jeremiah Green.
Plummer, before joining Modest Mouse, played with the indie rock bands The Black Heart Procession and The Magic Magicians.[1] Plummer was one of the 88 drummers who participated in Japanese noise rock pioneers Boredoms 88 Boadrum performance on August 8, 2008. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon.[2]
According to a James Mercer interview published on Pitchfork Media on May 6, 2009, Joe Plummer replaced Jesse Sandoval as the drummer for The Shins.[3] He will play for the band on their current tour and record their next album, due to early 2010.
