Biography

Johannes Andreas Amon was a composer who was a proficient singer as well as a fine performer on the horn, violin, viola and piano. Being a traveling performer with Punto he had the opportunity to meet Hiller, Reichardt, Hoffmeister, Haydn, and Mozart. The Kappelmeister position in Oettingen-Wallerstein was filled by Amon for a period of eight years. Contributions in composition abound and include concertos, symphonies, masses, cantatas, and the majority of music genres, with the exception of opera.
