German Literature Companion: Johann Georg Hamann

Hamann, Johann Georg (Wendisch-Ossig, Oberlausitz, 1697-1733, Hamburg), a cousin of J. G. Hamann (below), became a private tutor and was active as a publicist, contributing to Gottsched's periodical Die vernünftigen Tadlerinnen. He is best known for his sequel (2 vols., 1724) to Die Asiatische Banise by Heinrich Anselm von Ziegler und Kliphausen.
