John Boyle

 

Boyle, John, 5th Earl of Orrery (1707-1762). Born in England and educated at Westminster and Oxford, he edited the Dramatic Works (1739) of Roger Boyle, his grandfather, and translated Pliny's Letters (1751). His Remarks on the Life and Writings of Dr. Jonathan Swift (1751), accuses Swift of misanthropy.
