John Kerr (1782–1842), father of John Kerr, Jr., cousin of Bartlett Yancey, and grand-uncle of John H. Kerr, was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Virginia from 1813 to March 1815 and again from October 1815 to 1817.
