Dr. John Lucas Miller, Sr (May 29, 1795 - August 11, 1838) was the brother of the Governor of South Carolina, Stephen Decatur Miller. His son, John Lucas Miller Jr (b. 1831 in Ebenezer, SC, d. 1864) was a
South Carolina legislator and an officer of the Campbell Rifles - 12th
South Carolina Infantry Regiment Company B in the American Civil War. John Jr.
was killed at the head of his regiment in May of 1864.
