John Alexander Maclean (born April 27, 1946, Herston, Queensland) is a former Australian cricketer who played in 4 Tests and 2 ODIs from 1978 to 1979.

John has bachelor degrees in Engineering (Civil) and Economics from the University of Queensland. John is currently the Chairman of Development Planning Pty Ltd and a Director of Farr Evrat Engineers and Tabletop Architects and Planners as well as an advisor to the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) through the QAS Board.

John has four grown sons; Scott Alexander, Andrew James and Nicholas Gerard all living in Australia with the youngest son, Thomas William living in London, England.
