Norris, John (1675-1711) English churchman. Norris was a Neoplatonist, and admirer of Henry More and Malebranche. In 1690 he wrote Reflections upon the Conduct of Human Life with reference to the Study of Learning and Knowledge, in a letter to an excellent Lady, the Lady Masham (see Masham, Damaris). Masham replied anonymously with Occasional Thoughts in Reference to a Virtuous or Christian Life (1691).
