Johnny Rod (born December 8, 1957) is an American bass guitar player. One of the early bands he was active in was King Kobra, from 1983 to 1986. In 1986 he joined the heavy metal band W.A.S.P.. In late 1992 he quit the music business and moved to Pittsburgh, PA. He trained and worked as an EMT (160hrs in training as opposed to 3000hrs for a Paramedic) in Pittsburgh, PA. Johnny currently lives in downtown St. Louis, MO. He has a grown daughter in Pennsylvania and a young son in Missouri. He has recently done masonry and concrete work.

Johnny Rod used both Fender (mostly Precision Basses) and B.C. Rich basses during his career. He is best known for his yellow B.C. Rich Ironbird bass, which was his main bass during most of his years with W.A.S.P.
