Jonathan Charles Toogood (born in Wellington, New Zealand, on August 9, 1971) is the frontman (lead vocals and guitar) of the New Zealand rock band Shihad.[1][2] He formed the band in 1988 with fellow Wellingtonian Tom Larkin. Toogood and Larkin met as teenage fans of AC/DC and Metallica.[3]

Solo Work
Toogood recently revealed he has been travelling around New Zealand to collaborate with other New Zealand artists for a project that is "extra-curricular" to Shihad's music. Confirmed collaborators include Tiki Taane, Ruban and Kody Neilson from the Mint Chicks, Julia Deans from Fur Patrol, Shayne Carter of Dimmer (band)/Straightjacket Fits fame and ladi6. Toogood says that music is set to become a collaboration record, and hopes to release a single before the end of 2009.[4]
Personal life
Toogood married his partner of 13 years, Ronise, in 2003. He has a stepdaughter named Anaya.[5]
Toogood was a keen cricket player in high school, and at one stage captained the Wellington Rep Cricket Team.[6]
