1. The flesh under the lower jaw, especially when plump or flaccid.
2. A fleshy part similar to a jowl, such as the dewlap of a cow or the wattle of a fowl.

The enlarged head or foot of a timber, usually a vertical post; often used to facilitate the joining of other timbers.
