Founded in 1956 by Virginia and James Binger, and named for their children Judy, James, and Cynthia, the organization became a major force on Broadway in the last quarter of the 20th century. Jujamcyn operates the Al Hirschfeld,Eugene O'Neill, St. James, Virginia, and Walter Kerr Theatre s. It actively encourages productions and has selected so intelligently that its record of housing hits is outstanding. Rocco Landesman, the company's president, is credited with much of this success.
