Juno Beach

One of the five beaches along the Normandy coast of France that were invaded as part of the D-Day assault of World War II on June 6, 1944. Allied Forces, under U.S. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, assembled the largest invasion fleet in history in order to attack the northern coast of France and begin a push eastward toward Nazi Germany. Of the five code-named beaches (Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword), all were taken easily except “Bloody Omaha.”
