Just a Little Bit Crazy documents one of the stranger annual sporting events in America. The National Rattlesnake Sacking Championship involves teams of two people attempting to put ten rattlesnakes inside a heavy bag as quickly as possible. The filmmakers interview many of the contestants, who discuss the very real dangers of competing in this event. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
Review
Now this is one messed up documentary. Fans of true-life backwoods shenanigans take notice, because it's time that Taylor, Texas' time-honored practice of professional snake bagging is unleashed upon the rest of the world. Filled with rivalries and backstage intrigue, Just a Little Bit Crazy takes classical sporting tales of old and throws them on their head thanks to the movie's wildly bizarre subject matter. Thankfully, the stars of the film are just as wacky as their dangerous hobby, which is serious business for anyone caught in the jaws of the confined rattlers. Squeamish viewers and the faint of heart will find it hard to make it through the whole pic due to grisly images of the effects of snake bites, which are regularly played off by the league's regular contestants. Intriguing in its details of the sport itself as well as its portrayals of the men and women insane enough to get in the ring in the first place, Just a Little Bit Crazy lives up to its mondo inspirations and delivers something so strange and out of the ordinary that nothing apart from Christopher Guest's documentaries can quite compare. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
