juvenile delinquent

Term used to describe minors who have committed an offense ordinarily punishable by criminal processes, but who are under the statutory age for criminal responsibility. When a juvenile commits an offense it is considered an act of juvenile delinquency. See juvenile court. See also youthful offenders.
